Matching the boat format to your group
A shared tour is usually the simplest choice for solo travellers, couples and small groups who are comfortable with a fixed timetable. It offers good value and a social atmosphere, but stop durations, music and onboard rhythm are shared with other guests.
A private yacht or gulet costs more overall yet can become attractive for families or groups dividing the price. Privacy, flexible swimming time, food preferences and celebration arrangements are the main advantages. Flexibility is never unlimited: licensed capacity, protected zones and the captain’s safety decisions still apply.
Compare total price rather than headline price. Ask whether fuel, lunch, drinks, harbour charges, towels and transfers are included, then request the cancellation and poor-weather conditions in writing.
